Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

There is truth.

Joh 8:31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Joh 8:32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

The clouds of life may be grouchy with thunder grumbling at your every turn. Trouble’s brew may be violent and disconcerting. But in the midst of trouble you have truth. And truth is a liberating force. Truth sets you free at the Red Seas of personal struggle; at places where you feel entrapped by the proverbial Egyptian armies of anger, bitterness, and self-defeat. But truth will provide an escape route. Truth will help you get to other side, away from deception, lies, and harmful manipulation.

You see truth is not what we think is right; it is right. One hundred percent right. And when the layers of condemnation are peeled away, beneath the skin of failure lays the core of redemption. That is truth. There is forgiveness for your failures. That is inspiring. There is hope for your hurts. That is encouraging. There is strength found for weaknesses revealed. That is reassuring.

So, in a world of pandering politicians pulled by greedy strings and puppet-controlled appetites; in a time where peace is uttered on stage but obliterated under masks and hoods of deception; truth is liberating. You can be free from fear in the knowledge of God. You can be chain-free from anxiety in the peace of God that passes all understanding. Is the Iranian President going to attempt a nuclear attack against Israel while publicly disclaiming their nuclear buildup to be for energy? What is the truth in that situation? No one really knows. But I know when Jesus says he will be with you through the worst of storms, even to the end of the world; that is truth.

Is the new Health Care reform going to help millions of Americans; is it better for everyone? Will sincere care or merely political motivation be the force behind new legislations in our country? Who knows? It is a mystery. And the Word of God states that the mystery of iniquity already works. Things will unfold. Eventual motives will be revealed. And lies will be exposed. But truth; truth will stand. Truth will endure. And when Jesus says he will care for you in the crisis, calm your chaos (whether physical or emotional), create a safe haven from malicious opposition, comfort you in stressful hours, console your fears in the face of danger; you can be confident that every word is without pretension and full of sincere promise.
