Reinventing the Will P2

Timing is not everything. When did this woman of Zarephath give her last meal to the prophet? At the height of success? No. During an economic boom where grain was half price and oil was plentiful? No. At the time she gave the unkempt stark-dressed prophet her last meal the whole land was in a drought and in famine. But she didn’t let the drought give her doubt; and she didn’t let the famine give her fear. She ignored the timing and took the promise. Friend, don’t think to yourself, it’s a bad time to give, I might lose my house; it’s a bad time to give, I might lose my job; it’s a bad time to give, I might not have the medical coverage I need for this operation; it’s a bad time to give, I might not be able to pay the electric bill. Say instead, the worst time to give in the world is the best time to give in God’s Word. Remember, fear is what you think the world might do; faith is what you know God will do. So, timing isn’t everything; truth is everything. “And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord…”
