The Main Attraction P3
The fish flopped desperately trying to find an escape. Their silvery, scaly bodies looked at times like secret treasures lifted from the depths. The fishermen continued to pull the large net further onto shore as water splashed onto the dusty feet of the Messiah. The sun-golden reflections of the sea looked rather celestial. The huddled disciples inquisitively looked at the catch. They smiled. In the past the questions would have lingered, how and why. But not now. They knew what the miracle worker had done. And then there was that resurrection thing. Anyone who could drag a net through death, hell, and the grave; bring home all the Old Testament saints through the splendor of his resurrection, could surely catch a school of fish unable to hide from his discerning eye.
Once again the disciples learned that without Christ they lived with the frustration of having nothing; but with Christ the fruit, or in this case fish, of impossibility always swam beneath the surface. Some men drag their nets in the empty waters of ego, indulgence, and self serving goals only to be disappointed. But when Jesus opens the curtain of his love and steps on to the stage of your circumstance; when he becomes the lead actor in the your dilemma, dragging the net in never an empty adventure. It is full. It is fortunate. It is faith building. (Inspired from John 21:2-8)
